There is a suspicion built into the pricing, and it is reasonable. $300 per month sitting next to $10,000 looks like the monthly option must be the stripped-down one. Fewer decisions, a template, a junior, the version you get when you are not paying properly.
It is not. The answer to whether a managed website subscription is worth it starts with the fact that Orbit runs the same Framework, and this article proves that, then shows what the arrangement actually costs over time, including the part that makes owning it outright cheaper. If you were going to do this arithmetic in your head anyway, you should have our numbers while you do it.
What is identical
The Profueled Framework, in full. Orbit builds up to five pages, built by the same team, to the same design standard, with the same positioning, audience, narrative, structure and visual system work behind it. There is no Orbit tier of the Framework and there is no template library. The planning session is the same session, and the design is produced the same way. What is different
Ownership and responsibility, and nothing else that matters. Profueled owns and operates the website implementation while Orbit is active.
You own your domain, brand identity, original copy, photography, customer data, analytics accounts and business accounts. Hosting, unlimited traffic, ongoing updates within scope and technical maintenance are handled by us for as long as the subscription runs.

The honest math
Rocket: $10,000 once, then hosting starting at $252 per year, billed by your provider, and updates are on you.
Orbit for 24 months: $300 to start plus $300 per month times 24, which is $7,500 paid, buying no equity.
Buying it out afterwards: $10,000 after month 24, and that figure is not credited against what you have already paid.
So Orbit and then ownership totals $17,500 against $10,000 upfront.
Stated plainly: if you were always going to own it, buying it outright is cheaper. We would rather you read that here than work it out three months in and feel misled.
So why does anyone choose Orbit
Because that comparison prices the website and ignores the service. Those 24 months include hosting, unlimited updates within scope, technical maintenance, and a team whose job it is to keep the thing working. Priced separately, that is not a small number.
For most owners the honest alternative is not paying somebody else to do that work. It is the work quietly not getting done. The site drifts out of date, the plugin does not get updated, the new service never makes it onto the services page, and eighteen months later the website describes a business you no longer run.
Then there is cash flow. $300 to start lets the business earn before it spends $10,000, and for a company where that capital has somewhere better to be this quarter, that is the whole argument.
Orbit is not renting the website. It is renting the responsibility.
